No matter what business your in. Online or offline, you probably know by now how important it is to have a list.
Usually you build that list by offering something of value, like information in exchange for an email address.
Before we go on I want share with you the two types of bank accounts you have.
The two types of bank accounts
- The real, the physical bank account. The account with money. This is the bank account that most of us want to grow. Making money, the dollars, the sales…
- But you also have an invisible bank account and this is the account that precedes the physical one.
You must have heard about the phrase “money is in the list”.
That might be true, but that would mean that all those people on that list would be rich, right?
And if that was really so than we only had to buy a ton of traffic and get thousands of people on our list and BOOM, we would be millionaires!
Good traffic, bad traffic, targeted leads or not, it would not matter.
Well we all know that that is not how it works.
some say that the money is in the relationship. Oké, but we have to ask ourselves, how do we cultivate that relationship?
You do that by giving and providing value, massive value. That is how you build that relationship.
Very important to remember is this: People buy from people the know like and trust.
About the invisible bank account.
If you want to make money from your list you have to nurture your list.
I believe that the more money you have in your invisible bank account the more you will have in you physical account.
If you look at the diagram you see the point where somebody opted in. The did because you had an offer with value. You have their interest.
What a lot of marketeers do is the moment somebody gets on the list they start to pitch them with offers, only saying buy, buy, buy.
Better said it’s Bye Bye, Bye.
As you can see the open rate is going down, because they only get pitched.
But if you provide and give value, people will love to hear from you, they will open your email and by the time you do pitch them, they will buy.
Why?, because as I said before “people buy from people they know, like and trust”.
So, nurture your list, give and provide value and sales will follow
